The Coatings & Adhesives Market
The CASE market includes a wide variety of products, primarily involved in the architectural, construction and industrial industries. Used to improve resistance, durability, and performance, these products are found in a variety of applications, such as textiles and nonwovens, industrial, printing inks, construction and architectural coatings.
Market interest in sustainable coatings and similar products in the industry has increased over the past decade as well. The bio-based CASE market has been growing at a healthy rate since 2012, between five and 10 percent per year across the world. Between increasing worldwide attention to environmental concerns and concerns with the future of petroleum-based products, more industrial customers than ever are considering sustainable alternatives and ethical lubricant additive suppliers.
Acme-Hardesty can help you achieve more with our lineup of bio-based products. We firmly believe in the power of sustainability, which is why we provide nothing less than responsibly sourced, bio-based products. No matter how much demand grows, we’ll continue to provide ethically sourced solutions to meet our customers’ needs.
Our fatty acids, including our new line of natural oil polyols, promote enhanced moisture protection and flexibility in a variety of applications, including flow enhancer in powder coating additives. Examples of our fatty acids for coating, adhesive, sealant and elastomer (CASE) applications include:
#1 Castor Oil
Castor oil is an extremely versatile material that has served mankind in a number of ways for thousands of years. The many castor oil CASE applications include use as a varnish and coating additive, a viscosity modifier and emulsifier in industrial sealants as well as a carrier of dyes and pigments in paints, inks and coatings. We offer #1 castor oil in various forms including pale pressed, dehydrated, low moisture and low AV. Packaging options include drums, isotanks, bulk, IBCs and five-gallon pails.
Magnesium stearate is the product of a reaction between magnesium sulfate and sodium stearate. Also known as magnesium salt, magnesium stearate serves as an additive in many types of industrial products. Magnesium stearate CASE applications include being used as a lubricant and neutralizer.
Acme-Hardesty offers a plant-based magnesium stearate product that is free of common allergens such as nuts, eggs, fish and dairy. We also package magnesium stearate in bags with a shelf life of two years from the date of manufacture.
Sebacic acid is a castor oil derivative that is also known as octanedicarboxylic acid or decanedioic acid. CASE uses of sebacic acid include a paint and coating additive to serve as an intermediate and for the polyester polyols used to produce hot metal adhesives. We sell sebacic acid in a white granular powder form with a minimum purity of 99.5 percent and packaged in bags and super-sacks.
Also known as zinc soap, zinc stearate is a fatty acid that is insoluble in polar solvents and is also an excellent water repellent. We sell tallow- and veg-based zinc stearate for use in numerous CASE applications such as a lubricant aid in industrial sealants for sanding and as a paint and coating additive where it acts as a flatting agent. Our zinc stearate comes packaged in bags with a shelf life of two years from the date of manufacture.
As one of the leading coating, adhesive, sealant and polyurethane elastomer suppliers, Acme-Hardesty can meet all your oleochemical needs. Please take a few minutes to review all our CASE additives.
