Thickeners

As a leader in industrial cleaning chemicals, we produce high-quality thickeners that add consistency and density to numerous cleaning products. Thickeners are substances that increase the viscosity of a liquid without significantly altering its other properties. Thickening agents can also improve ingredient suspension and emulsion, ultimately increasing product stability. These substances are suitable for cleaning supplies such as floor cleaners, acids, soaps, detergents and other liquids containing alcohol.

Industrial cleaning thickeners are primarily used to thicken oxidizing compounds and disinfectant products of varying pHs to enhance spreading capabilities, reduce splashing and ensure desired contact time. Thickeners also allow users to create stable gel formations that are easier to apply than other cleaning agents.

There are different types of cleaning thickeners, such as gelling agents, which form a gel before dissolving in a liquid to form a loose cohesive structure. Other thickeners act as thixotropic additives, which resist strain through particle adherence.

Naturally derived Bisabolol is a multifunctional active known for its soothing and skin-conditioning properties, making it an ideal addition to hand soaps, dishwashing liquids, and other cleaning products that come into frequent contact with skin. By helping reduce the potential for dryness and irritation associated with repeated washing, Bisabolol promotes a more comfortable user experience without compromising cleaning performance.

Complementing these actives, metallic stearates enhance product stability, texture, and shelf life by serving as effective thickeners, lubricants, and anti-caking agents across a variety of cleaning formulations.

AHCOHOL™ 1698

AHCOHOL™ 1698 is a 98% pure octyl alcohol solution found in many household and industrial cleaning applications. Octyl alcohol is an allergen-free, vegetable-based product extracted from nonanimal sources. You can purchase this ingredient in a liquid form that fits your needs. Octyl alcohol is often used as an emulsifying agent in metalworking fluids as well as a starting material for sulfate manufacturing. We carry this industrial cleaning chemical in Kosher liquid form with a shelf life of two years when properly stored according to Safety Data Sheet (SDS) requirements. You can purchase our octyl alcohol drums or bulk based on your packaging preferences.

Coconut Fatty Acids

Coconut fatty acid is another highly effective cleaning agent suitable for use as a surfactant, emulsifier, foam booster and detergent. These versatile ingredients are frequently used as greases, lubricants, degreasing agents and rust inhibitors for metalworking and machinery applications. You can also apply them as mold-release agents for plastics and rubbers, biofuels for the oil and gas industry or conditioning agents for textile and leather manufacturing. Coconut fatty acid can also function as a wax for wood polishing and cutting board conditioning.

Palm Kernel Fatty Acid

Palm kernel fatty acid is a vegetable-based ingredient extracted from palm fruit kernels. Like coconut fatty acid, palm kernel fatty acid are applicable as cleaning agents, foam boosters, surfactants and emulsifiers. These renewable industrial cleaning chemicals are commonly used as degreasing agents and rust inhibitors for metals and machinery, as well as mold-release agents for rubbers and plastics. You can also use them as waxes and anionic or nonionic surfactants. At Acme-Hardesty, our distilled palm kernel fatty acid is available for purchase in drums.
